I had been learning on Duolingo and Pimsleur in preparation for my trip to Japan but knew I wanted something more in-depth and structured. This class exceeded my expectations in how much I learned in a short amount of time. There is weekly homework (writing and speaking) that really helped solidify the concepts learned in class, and the speaking was a huge help to make me feel more confident for my upcoming trip. I even signed up for the next class because I want to keep learning!

Fun, easy and an amazing experience! I was worried that with both work and school I wouldn’t have time to learn, but I was wrong. Everything was properly explained and thorough. This course was short, sweet and to the point. I learned so much! Highly recommend.

I honestly recommend this class after having tried self-study for 2+ years. Grammar is not easy to pick up solo but the best thing really that this class can give is verbal practice – just having someone to practice speaking with (especially those of us not in Japan) and also to have someone correct us with the pronunciation (mostly intonation) of how Japanese should “sound” (versus being “read”).

I loved taking this course! Sayaka-sensei made it very easy to understand, and easily accessible. I think I speak for the rest of my class when I say that it was a pleasure to be apart of this language-learning journey, and I’m very much looking forward to the next class.

Simply put, 104 was a fantastic class for me! It makes you really think through during all the exercises and during class as well. The foundations that 104 give you are incredible! With the new grammar we learned during 104, I felt way more comfortable to communicate during my visit to Japan, not just communicate but actually hold conversations going past the basics! Highly recommended, like all the other NihongoDekita classes! 😊 本当にありがとうございました！

I had an absolute amazing time in Japanese 102 with Sayaka sensei! I’ve taken quite a few classes before, but nothing compares to the preparation and resources that Sayaka sensei provides for her students. Growing close to fellow learners was a huge plus as everyone is so kind and helpful. I loved it so much I signed up for 103 in a heartbeat 🙂 Thank you so much sensei!

I came into the class knowing a very small amount of Japanese and left knowing many useful phrases and knowing all of the Hiragana and Katakana characters. The instructor staff are very knowledgeable and kind and made learning their language fun and stress-free. Highly recommend taking this course if you have a trip coming up or want to start learning Japanese for your own goals.

It’s amazing how much you learn each week. It’s broken down and well explained so it’s manageable in weekly sessions but when you’re done and look back at how much you learned over the length of the class it’s truly mind-blowing. Participation and the mistakes that come with are encouraged greatly and it really helps you develop faster

This course was perfect for what I was looking for, a basic but very useful introduction to Japanese. The teachers were extremely friendly and helpful and the lessons in the live-classroom made for a very good interactive experience.

It was a great course for beginners, and I had a lot of fun meeting people with similar goals! Sakaya-sensei brought an amazing atmosphere and overall vibe with her to every single class she conducted, and Yuya-sensei explained in wonderful ways and was a great sport during the entire duration of the course.

Sayaka-sensei has a unique and interactive approach that makes learning fun and easy. Her team is amazing as well and were very supportive throughout our learning experience. You will be surprised how much you can learn in 5 weeks. the course covered writing, reading, speaking as well as listing. I Highly recommend the 101 course!
